Not only do you understand Bobby and everything the hotel has to offer, but you know the surrounding hotels pretty well, too.Build and maintain your base. You'll develop and maintain lasting relationships with local event/wedding/meeting planners, prospect for new business opportunities and handle all inquiries coming to Bobby. Get down to the nitty gritty. You'll negotiate guest room rates, meeting room rental, function space, and hotel services. Have them sign on the dotted line and forward the documents to the client and affected hotel departments.Set goals and then crush them. You exceed the expectation every time so meeting your set goals is a walk in the park for you.Take care of your clients and show them the true meaning of Southern hospitality. You'll be available to ensure that their entire experience runs smoothly from start to finish.You'll get brownie points if you have experience with Delphi (or similar software) and detailing BEO's. All successful candidates will be subject to a background check.POSITION OVERVIEW:As an Associate Director of Sales, you will be responsible for nurturing and seeking new relationships to secure key bookings. In this position, you will be a pro-active leader with an emphasis on new business development. To stay ahead of the curve, you will research market trends, competition and customers. You will strive to achieve personal and team related revenue goals; ensure business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for proper service delivery; and drive customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:5+ years of hotel selling and or servicing experience. Identify new group business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals.Understand the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them.Close the best opportunities for the hotel based on market conditions and hotel needs.Use negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.An understanding of Luxury travel segment and client needs.Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Develop relationships within community to strengthen and expand customer base for group/catering sales opportunities.Manage and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.Conduct site inspections.Create contracts as required.Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.Gain understanding of the hotel's primary target customer and service expectations; serve the customer by understanding their business, business issues and concerns, to offer better business solution both prior to, and during the program/event.Develop and maintain positive working relationships. Comply with quality assurance standards. Follow company and department policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Follow property specific procedures for handling emergency situations (e.g., evacuations, medical emergencies, natural disasters).Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.Have access to reliable transportation and follow attendance policyOther duties as assigned.
