considered for a Sr. Controls Designer role.

Purpose and Essential Duties
The purpose of the Controls Engineer is to provide technical
support for the Project Manager to support the execution of
controls design, controls installation, retro-commissioning,
metering solutions, and data analytics.
Controls Engineer's responsibilities include overseeing survey and
technical solution development. Specific responsibilities
include:
Retro-Commissioning
Complete site surveys to determine existing facility
conditions.
Conducts meetings with owners, clients, and sub-contractors as
required. Prepares meeting notes and site observation reports.
Complete energy calculations to estimate project savings.
Develops and implements programming modifications for the building
automation Controls
Complete minimum airflow calculations per the applicable code.
(ASHRAE 170, 62.1, or other states/local codes.)
Develops and implements programming modifications for the building
automation Controls.
Complete project closeout documentation.
Design and Pre-Construction
Support site surveys to determine the requirements to complete the
scope of work.
Completes design documents, including drawings and specifications,
for building automation controls upgrades.
Review submittals for conformation to design documents.
Construction
Prepares programming instructions for controls specialists,
controls analysts, or sub-contractors.
Completes site visits to review progress, quality of installation,
and identify deficiencies.
Troubleshoot controls programming and setup problems.
Provide programming support to the implementation team to complete
the project requirements.
Other
Uphold Bernhard's owner advocacy philosophy, mission, and core
values.
Perform the assigned duties with minimal supervision, while working
in a team problem-solving environment.
Complete technical reports or related documents as required.
Other duties as assigned or required.
Required Education, Experience and Qualifications
Bachelor degree in an Engineering Field
Professional Engineering (PE) license.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel,
PowerPoint.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties
outside of scope of work when necessary.
Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a
fast-paced environment.
Preferred Education, Experience and Qualifications
Building Automation Controls programming experience. Preferred
Controls include Siemens, JCI, Honeywell, Trane, Struxureware, and
Tridium.
Building automation Controls design experience.
CEM certification
Healthcare or Higher Education project experience.
Proficient in ACAD.
Travel Requirements
Travel will be required and is dependent on project location and
needs. The travel commitment is estimated to be as high as 50% of
regular work schedule per month. Generally, travel is during the
workweek and not expected over weekends.
Physical/Work Environment Requirements
The work environment will be a combination of an office environment
and site survey environment.
Site surveys will include exposure to external weather, loud
noises, and poorly accessible spaces.
Ability to survey confined spaces within a facility to gather
necessary information on building equipment.
The use of ladders to survey equipment above ceiling is required
periodically.
