Role: SEC Financial Reporting - Remote - Banking / Financial
Services - Senior Analyst or ManagerWe are assisting our banking
client with an exciting opportunity within the SEC Financial
Reporting and Regulatory Reporting team. We are looking for someone
with banking or public accounting experience in SEC financial
reporting experience within a financial institution. This role will
lead the preparation, analysis, and reporting of financial
information submitted to U.S. regulators by ensuring accurate and
timely data sourcing and analysis. The heart of the role would
focus on overseeing all things loans and allowances relating to SEC
financial and regulatory Reporting.Since the role is remote, the
company would like someone that has Banking, financial
institutions, Credit Union, or financial services industry
experience so that they can hit the ground running. They operate in
a variety of LOBs including but not limited to: commercial and
consumer banking, residential lending and wealth
management.Location - Remote within the US - or flexibility to work
at one of the offices throughout Florida with occasional travel to
Florida.Responsibilities:
- Support the requirements of the U.S. Allowance for Loan & Lease
Losses (ALLL) and Provision for Credit Losses (PCL) monthly
financial close and reporting activities, internal and external
audits as well as the current expected credit losses (CECL)
methodology and related disclosures
- Prepare quarterly external filings, such as quarterly earnings
release, Form 10-Q and Form 10-K
- Analyze and review financial statements and disclosures to
ensure appropriate application of GAAP.
- Engage with finance, accounting, and business units in
evaluating and accounting for complex issues and transactions,
including mergers and acquisitions, lending activities, revenue
recognition and other financial accounting and reporting
matters.
- Develop and maintain significant accounting policies, ensuring
compliance with GAAP and SEC rules
- Work and partner with multiple areas of the business, including
Controllers, Treasury, Risk, Accounting Policy, Financial Planning
and Analysis, Capital Planning, Finance & Risk Shared Services,
Legal, and the Chief Data Office to maintain a high level of
quality and accuracy of the report filings. Establish strong
working relationships with key contacts
- Engage with business units to analyze the business drivers
behind financial results, and draft relevant content for investor
presentations, publications, and SEC and other filings.
- Ad-hoc projects including: identifying/closing control gaps or
issues, streamlining and automating processes, or implementing new
reporting requirements
- Help to ensure proper financial management controls, SOX
reporting, compliance and governance are embedded across the
business to drive financial integrity as it relates to SEC
financial reporting and bank Regulatory Reporting filings
- Ability to research technical accounting topicsQualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- MAcc, MBA, CPA preferred.
- 3+ years of Financial Reporting or US Regulatory Reporting
experience in Banking. Strong familiarity with Generally Accepted
Accounting Principles (GAAP) / SEC financial reporting.
- Previous banking, financial institutions and regulatory
reporting experience preferred
- Previous experience preparing the Call Report and other banking
regulatory filings would be beneficial
- Previous public accounting audit, assurance, advisory
experience in banking
- Strong understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)Exploratory
