Lee Company advertises most jobs by trade; your interest and experience will help us in matching you with the appropriate opportunity.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (include but are not limited to)Depending on position may:

  • Depending on position, install, fabricate, alter and/or repair sheet metal products and equipment (e.g., ductwork and hoods for HVAC systems) utilizing blueprints, drawings, and work orders.
  • Plan and coordinate tasks and amount of material required for the performance of work
  • Prepare and implement equipment based on need, including, but not limited to, power saws, drill presses, hand and power shears, pan and box brakes, lock-formers, cleat benders, and rollers to cut, punch, thread, and form sheet metal (construction)
  • Perform and oversee set-up and operation of equipment including but not limited to: plasma cutting tables; power shears; notchers; brakes; rollers; lock-formers; cleat benders; punches; pinspotters; insulation cutters; insulation adhesive applicators; saws; hand tools; and drill presses to cut, form, punch, insulate, seal, and assemble sheet metal (fabrication)
  • Coordinate and assemble ducts, hoods, and other sheet metal products; solder and bolt connections; apply insulation as required; inspect assemblies and installation for conformance with specifications
  • Perform operational checks of ducts and other sheet metal assemblies and installations to determine the quality, taking corrective action when appropriate
  • Provide direction and technical guidance to less-experienced workers
  • Must be able to handle stress and job demands
  • Must be able to cooperatively work with others
  • Other duties as assignedEducation and Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
    • 3+ years previous sheet metal installation or fabrication experience required
    • Ability to ascend/descend ladders without aversion to heightsSkills and Abilities:
      • Ability to assemble hoods and sheet metal HVAC systems and components
      • Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately
      • Perform quality work with a high degree of attention to detail to meet or exceed quality expectations
      • Demonstrate proper and safe use of tools and related equipment
      • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
      • Experience in providing quality, professional customer-related services
      • Ability to work and communicate effectively individually as well as in a team environment
      • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a construction or fabrication settingPhysical Demands/Working Conditions:The physical activities described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. - Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions and expectations.Individuals may need to ride or drive in a vehicle for 2 or more hours at a time depending on the position. Individuals working at an outside job site or in the fabrication shop may be exposed to varying temperatures including very hot (above 90 degrees F) or very cold (below 32 degrees F) and all weather conditions. Individuals may be exposed to cramped workspaces, contaminants, extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.Performing this job requires frequent use of hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools, or controls. - Must be able to sit, talk, hear, and stand frequently throughout the day. - Must be able to climb, reach above shoulder height, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl frequently. - The position occasionally may require lifting heavy objects (up to 75 pounds) and performing strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.Individuals may occasionally be exposed to hazardous conditions, high places, and/or hazardous equipment. - May work with or around chemicals that require knowledge of a safety data sheet.Lee Company typically performs work locally and/or regionally.
