May be required to take full responsibility on a given project upon request.This is a key role on our project teams, assisting in the planning, prioritizing, coordinating, and supervising multiple activities for the project. The Assistant Superintendent coordinates work with different crafts and sub-contractors, sharing the responsibility for productivity, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project. Maintains awareness of safety rules and procedures, identifies safety hazards and implements corrective actions. The regular working hours are Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. but needs to be able to work extra hours, including weekends to meet project schedules, demands, and site emergencies. Most projects are located within a 100-mile radius of our office in Nashville, but willingness to travel on occasion is preferred. Position RequirementsKnowledge, Experience & Competencies:Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or similar major preferredMust possess a valid, state-issued driver's licenseMinimum 6 years of work experience in a commercial construction environment, of which 2 years must be at the Foreman levelAbility to read, understand, and implement construction documentsAbility to calculate correct concrete and lumber quantities for projectsMust have basic competencies in mathematics and be able to perform math operations rapidly and accuratelyExcellent supervisory skills with ability to directly supervise up to 30 employees, as well as sub-contractorsGood interpersonal skills with customer-service orientationGood computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet-based applicationsAbility to be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for project site emergencies Equal Opportunity Employer T.
