Building A Level 03, Nashville, TN 37217 Full -Time Days rotating
weekends HCA Healthcare Laboratory Services is opening a brand new
state-of-the-art Central Laboratory to support Histology and
Microbiology specialized testing for our HCA Healthcare hospitals
in the Tristar Division. Our new laboratory is projected to open

potential!Job Summary and QualificationsYou Will:
- Be responsible for the management and handling of inbound and
outbound samples to include tracking, accessioning/registration,
sample preparation and processing, for in house testing or
submission to third parties.
- Ensure positive patient identification in the handling, plating
and labeling of samples and slides.
- Perform test order entry procedures with accuracy and in a
timely manner.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of specimen collection,
culture set-up, storage, transport and testing requirements as well
as specimen rejection criteria.
- Prepare, label, and handle laboratory specimens according to
established policies and procedures based on specimen type and
testing ordered.
- Prepare and receive (batches) samples for courier pick-up and
include any special instructions.
- Perform clerical duties such as answering and making telephone,
communication of test results, typing and data entry, sample
retrieval, filing paperwork and slides, faxing documents and
assisting with supply inventory.You Should Have:
- High School Diploma required
- Associate's Degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting
preferred
- Knowledge of laboratory methods as well as specimen collection,
culture set up, storage, transport and testing requirements based
on test requested or ordered.
- Excellent communication skills and effective team work
- Ability to organize work according to priorityThis role
requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local,
state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or
religious exemption is approved).Tristar Division Central
Laboratory, a new stand-alone laboratory in Nashville, supports HCA
Tennessee facilities to provide timely diagnostic information for
patient care. This beautiful state of the art laboratory handles
specialized clinical microbiology and Histology testing with new
testing equipment and technology in a fast paced environment.HCA
