You want to be an important member of a strong team of other makers who take pride in their work and support each other. As a Part-Time Associate Purchasing Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and processing steel requirements for the branch. You will close production work orders and provide aid in other functions to support the Production Control department. That's year one. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING (% of Time)

The Purchasing Clerk will provide assistance and support to the purchasing department in multiple functions on a daily basis. Enter and process all purchase orders for various branch supplies and services including freight and MRO needs. Assist in expediting overdue items and maintaining accurate PO information in the system. Assist with maintaining and publishing various purchasing documents regarding cost savings and supplier metrics. Develop and maintain an incoming shipment report and tracking sheet for all import goods. Work with purchasing coordinators and other departments to return the non-conforming products and ensure credit is issued.

Enter and process all purchase orders for various facility supplies and services, MRO needs, and different other purchase orders. (25%)

Assist in expediting overdue items and maintaining accurate PO information in the system. (25%)

Enter and process Purchase orders for Freight, 3rd party services, and other non-inventory items and ensure the proper backup is attached to all POs. (20%)

Develop and maintain a tracking sheet for all import goods to ensure proper flow of materials to support packaging and production departments. (15%)

Handle maintenance and communication of various purchasing documents regarding cost-downs, on-time delivery, and supplier metrics. (10%)

Perform general purchasing and front office functions to assist the team as needed. (5%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You've got what it takes if you can do everything listed above. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:

* Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
* 1 or more years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and training
* Accountability & Dependability: Meets commitments, works independently, accepts ownership of projects and outcomes, takes personal responsibility and sets objectives/standards, stays focused under pressure, meets attendance/punctuality requirements, and shows a sense of urgency about getting results.
* Attention to Detail: Is attentive to detail and accuracy, performs quality work, continuously looks for improvements, finds the root cause of problems, owns/acts on problems, and seeks opportunities to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
* Problem Solving: Ability to make decisions and take action. Able to proactively identify problems and implement solutions.
* Prioritization: Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment, and ensure timely completion of responsibilities.
* Technical: Working knowledge of Excel, pivot tables, v lookups, queries, and MS Office.
* Communication: Able to communicate one-on-one and in small group settings.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

This job requires less than 5% domestic travel.

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This part-time, non-exempt position is located in Gallatin, TN.

RELOCATION

Relocation is not available for this position.

PAY

$21.00/Hourly
