Job Description The Account Development Executive is a direct contributor/management position, requiring applicants to have problem solving skills, quick decision-making capability, relationship building experience, and a propensity for training/coaching. The Account Development Executive (ADE) will manage a team of dedicated Operations/Execution (OPEX) personnel. Beyond the skills listed above, the right candidate for this position will be self-motivated with a bias for action and a strong desire for growth. The core tasks of this position concentrate on establishing and growing a book of business, building relationships with customers, account penetration, and new business cultivation. ADEs are also responsible for the continued growth of individual OPEX personnel by using leadership skills to encourage and empower each team member. Day to day responsibilities include: o Managing multiple customers, processing daily requests, and working with management to create new approaches to develop book of business -- Developing strong relationships to maintain and grow business with active customers -- Managing a pipeline of customer prospects with consistent conversions -- Serving as a consultant to customers and prospects by communicating market insight on rates and capacity o Managing a team of OPEX directly, acting as a mentor to give guidance on processes, procedures and best practices per account with a hands-on management approach -- Assigning, tracking and monitoring tasks for OPEX -- Coaching OPEX personnel on selling available loads to carriers -- Ensuring excellent coordination between OPEX team and customers/carriers to surpass business partners' expectations -- Identifying internal candidates for advancement and fostering their development in learning the requirements for ADE role Job Requirements: - Existing book of business or proven ability to develop a new customer base - Thorough understanding of the freight market, industry metrics, sales, and account management - Disposition for teaching/coaching - Excellent written/verbal communication skills - Attention to detail and organization - Self-motivation with determination and a drive to be a high achiever Company Description PT Corporation is a privately owned transportation brokerage looking to fill an Account Development Executive role in our new van/reefer/flatbed division based in the Nashville area
