  • Lead Cardiac Sonographer / Lead Echo Tech
  • Full-time Day Shift /4 10 Hour Shifts
  • Call Shifts / Some Weekends
  • St. Thomas West - Nashville, TN
  • Structural Heart Program, in-house CME credits, ASE Sponsorship, and so much more!
  • Minimum Requirements: 3-5 years of experience, full preliminary reporting, RCS or RDCS Cardiac Sonographer Accreditation

Desirable Skills:

  • Strong interest in learning and personal development
  • Experience in use of 3D echocardiography, experience with strain and work with software, experience with the use of echocardiography to support structural heart interventions
  • Experience in assisting transesophageal echocardiography.
  • Experience and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and provide high level of patient care
Desired Achievements:
  • Have recently worked at an Acute Care facility that performs:
    • 200 hundred+ TAVRS annually
    • 50+Mitral Clips annually
    • That has advanced ICUs the care for patients on ECMO, Impella, IABP.
  • Participate in Structural heart clinical/research trials and ideally participate in the echo imaging.

What You Will Do:

Lead the daily operations of assigned department's imaging services.

  • Ensure quality in imaging, patient care and work flow.
  • Monitor patient documentation for timely completion and accuracy.
  • Oversee quality control testing, equipment maintenance and trouble shooting.
  • Serve as a resource to department staff as well as other members of the team as needed.
  • Perform staff orientation, training, and coaching.
  • Provide input to staff performance evaluations.
  • Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department to include procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area and any other areas in department.
What You Will Need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.For current incumbents as of 4/30/18, BLS required upon expiration of Heart Saver.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Cardiographic Tech credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Vascular-Intrvn Radiography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Cardiac Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Medical Sonographer credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Sonography Tech specializing in Cardiac credentialed from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Sonography Tech specializing in Vascular Sonography credentialed from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.

Work Experience:

  • 1 year of experience required.
