We Are Hiring:

Title: RN - PRN Float Pool - OB

 

Location: Saint Thomas Midtown

 

Shift: Nights (7p-7a)

 

Requirements: 15 shifts in a 6-week period, with 6 of those shifts being weekends.

 

Pay: $50/hr

What You Will Do:

As an OB Float RN at Saint Thomas Midtown you will float between the Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, NICU, and Antepartum units. You must be flexible and available to work the night shift. Saint Thomas Midtown is a premier destination for Women’s health care with more than 6,600 births per year. Responsibilities:

  • Monitors both the baby’s and mother’s vital signs including heart rate and blood pressure
  • Times contractions
  • Identifies and assists with handling complications
  • Helps administer medications and epidurals
  • Aids in inducing labor
  • Coaches new mother throughout the duration of the labor and delivery
  • Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assesses and coordinates patient's care needs with members of the healthcare team.
  • Assess and monitor the new mother after delivery to ensure proper recovery and healing
  • Clean and monitor the newborn baby
  • Check vital signs
  • Check caesarian incisions if applicable
  • Remove catheters after delivery
  • Dispense pain medication and/or antibiotics as needed
  • Provide education to new parents regarding how to care for an infant
  • Help the new mother with the emotional aspects of the birth recovery
  • Work with lactation consultants to help the new mother breastfeed
  • Provide comfort, support, and care to newborn infants who may have serious health conditions
  • Use cutting-edge equipment and technological machines and devices
What You Will Need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • One or more of the following required:
    • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing or current home state license for multi-state license recognition "Compact State" obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
Additional Preferences:

2 years of women's health experience in a hospital experience strongly preferred
