Nashville

Perform laboratory testing of patient specimens in the molecular diagnostics and/or flow section of the laboratory.

• Perform diagnostic/analytic/genetic/flow cytometry testing of specimens using molecular, DNA, and RNA and/or flow-based methods.
• Interpret, document and report test results.
• Perform quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Evaluate individual test and control results for effective amplification antibody reactions.
• Verify analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity and reference ranges for test methods.
• Develop, optimize and validate laboratory defined protocols.
• Serve as a resource to staff as needed.
• Consult with staff and pathologists on interpretations of molecular, flow and/or genetic test results.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Medical Technologist (ASCP) credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) preferred.
• Medical Lab Scientist (ASCP) credentialed from the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification (ASCP-BOC) preferred.
• Medical Tech credentialed from the American Board of Bioanalysis (AAB) preferred.
• Medical Tech credentialed from the American Medical Technologists (AMT) preferred.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, medical laboratory scientist, human sciences or education qualifications as stated per CLIA requirements.
