We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Director, Business Intelligence & Analytics (RCM)

Position Summary:

The Director of BI&A (RCM) will lead and drive high priority revenue-focused analytics initiatives as part of the enterprise-wide revenue cycle management (RCM) team. The Director will start with a focus on reporting on and improving RCM operations in one service line, and over time, support additional service lines and expand in other areas such as analyzing payor behavior, supporting data-driven rate negotiations and disputes with payors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the deployment of an RCM-focused enterprise data warehouse that supports multiple service lines and eventually, multiple business units
  • Manage the relationship with the external data warehouse vendor during the course of integrating with multiple, disparate billing systems spanning multiple service lines while ensuring data integrity and consistent data definitions
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with customers of BI&A: multiple RCM service leaders, managed care, legal team supporting payor disputes and finance
  • Drive timely delivery of insightful reports that are standardized across service lines and processes or customized for specific situations. Do so in close collaboration with stakeholders to ensure reports meet needs of common use cases, are accurate and widely adopted
  • Remain abreast of environmental and enterprise-specific developments that could impact reimbursement rates, time to collect, collections yield and revenue recognition. E.g., payor in-network status, rate renegotiations, CMS rate updates, billing system migrations, changes in RCM processes and changes in business mix across markets
  • Supervise, develop and build-out the BI&A team initially focusing on revenue analytics
  • Demonstrate thought leadership, executive presence, and influence with cross-functional partners.
  • Establish best practices throughout organization. Work collaboratively across the organization ensuring the alignment of goals and priorities to deliver on business objectives
  • Oversee and manage junior team members (including lead role in recruiting and building the team)
  • Responsible for adhering to Information Security Policies and ensuring Envision is as secure as possible.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Top-tier MBA preferred, but not a pre-requisite
  • 8-10 years of progressive experience post bachelor's degree
  • At least 6 years of mix of RCM and BI&A experience in healthcare services required, preferably at large medical groups or health systems
  • Deep understanding of RCM processes (front, middle and back end) required, having spent significant time in RCM operations preferably at large medical groups or health systems (payors will also be considered)
  • Experience with RCM focused data warehouses like MedeAnalytics and VisiQuate strongly preferred
  • Experience in patient collection programs and patient financial engagement platforms like Cedar and Simplee/Flywire preferred
  • Experience in standing up a data warehouse integrated with multiple billing systems preferred
  • Familiarity with SQL queries, OLAP cubes/data warehouses and data modeling / visualization tools like Power Query / Power BI / Tableau, are a plus
  • 4-6 years of experience building and managing teams required
  • Combination of experience in top-tier consulting firms (focused on RCM) and in-house corporate roles will be ideal
  • Strategic mindset: able to "connect the dots" and derive insights/correlations across multiple moving pieces that impact revenue and cash trends
  • Strong intellectual curiosity: always asking "why" in a quest to investigate and explain trends observed during data analysis
  • Analytically robust: natural agility in quantitative subjects that lends itself well to comprehending and correlating large number of data points
  • Polished executive presence and strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including specifically, the skills needed to manage complex conversations and interactions as they arise to support effective decision-making
  • Ability to engage directly with senior level executives (e.g., CEO, COO, etc.)
  • Outstanding conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Entrepreneurial / "founder-like" mentality: creative problem solver
  • High degree of comfort managing through significant ambiguity and complexity
  • Impeccable relationship building and conflict resolution skills across all levels. High EQ
