CarMax, the nation's largest retailer of used vehicles, is seeking a qualified CDL A Driver to join our team and help us enhance our mission of creating a transparent and congenial car buying experience. As a CDL A Driver for CarMax, you will play a critical role in our operations by safely transporting vehicles across locations and ensuring the highest standards are met in compliance with company policies and DOT regulations. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about driving and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Safely transport vehicles between various CarMax locations and other destinations as assigned. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections as required and report any issues or damages. Load and unload vehicles from transport equipment, ensuring secure and proper arrangement. Adhere to all company policies, DOT guidelines, and local traffic laws to maintain CarMax’s commitment to safety. Maintain logs of working hours, vehicle service, and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations. Coordinate with the logistics team to ensure timely deliveries and efficient route planning. Provide excellent customer service, addressing and resolving customer issues when necessary. Proven expertise in operating heavy vehicles and trailers safely. Strong attention to detail to safely and effectively handle transportation equipment. Ability to maintain composure and make critical decisions under pressure. Excellent time management skills to handle schedules and deadlines. Strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance 401k Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) required. Current DOT medical card. Clean driving record with no moving violations or at-fault accidents in the past 3 years. Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs).
