Responsibilities Overall Responsibilities: PCG seeks a seasoned Technical Project Manager (PM) with human services domain expertise to support projects across the nation. The PM role provides a unique opportunity for the selected candidate to provide critical project management and advisory services for large scale, enterprise technology projects in the public sector. The position reports directly to the engagement manager. The PM will focus on coordinating the project activities, milestones, and deliverables using industry best practices and methodologies for project management. The role requires superb communication, analytical and entrepreneurial skills typical of an experienced IT Project Manager. The ideal candidate will possess a rigorous attention to detail, a well-honed project management skill set rooted in industry best practices and dedication to quality project execution and outcomes. The Technical Project Manager is a consultative PM who not only manages scope, schedule and budget, but also advises the client and serves as a trusted advisor. It is expected that the individual has experience in managing large scale enterprise systems design, vendor selection, feasibility studies, gap analysis, cost benefit analysis, implementation, deployment and change management processes. He/she must understand the technical aspects of the software development lifecycle and have strong attention to detail to produce and oversee clear documentation. The Technical PM will lead a matrixed team of resources dedicated to delivering client engagements from an off-site location focused on common tools, technologies, and methodologies. The teams are typically comprised of a mix of programmatic subject matter experts, business analysis, technical specialists, and senior advisors. The team works together on diverse projects requiring a unique blend of skills and experiences. Specific Responsibilities: * Serve as primary, point of contact with the client for day-to-day project activities. ? Provide leadership and direction to the project team. ? Serve as trusted advisor to key client stakeholders.? Following a structured and defined software development methodology, create and manage an integrated project schedule that includes all project activities throughout the life of the projects.? Ensure development, finalization, and submission of defined deliverables. ? Provide quality reviews of all project deliverables.? Create risk register and actively manage. ? Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.? Develop and deliver progress reports, artifacts, and presentations.? Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.? Use and refine best practices and tools for project execution and management. Qualifications Required Skills: ? Demonstrated leadership of matrixed project teams to successful completion of a project, encouraging collaboration, promoting the flow of information among all participants ? Strong familiarity with project management disciplines and tools, especially as they relate to IT development/deployment for Enterprise software ? MS Project expertise is preferred ? Familiarity with regulatory requirements for deploying systems in state government departments? Demonstrated ability to forge strong business relationships and create "buy in"? Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment? Able to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities? Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently? Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines? Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments? Excellent communication skills, writing skills, problem solving and brainstorming skills ? Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial? Ability to effectively participate in presentations and meetings Required Experience:? Bachelor in Science or equivalent undergraduate degree in management, technology or other related fields? 10+ years of consulting/deployment environment experience? 5 years technical project management ? Experience in implementing Health and Human Services enterprise systems is required? PMP Certification preferred? A proven track record of on-time delivery of project and products.? Strong familiarity with project management and software development lifecycle methodologies Other Requirements:? Overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.? Travel throughout the country up to 80% of time, may be required.? The position is a full-time position with scheduled work hours expected to be largely performed Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. ? All tools and materials will be provided by PCG. ?
