Title: Specialist Software EngineerTerm: 12+ Months Temp to DirectLocation: Nashville, TN 37203Job Description:Participate and consistently contribute to planning, design, implementation, verification, deployment, and support activities for custom software components and applications. May perform task management activities for other software engineers.The Software Engineer, Specialist Level is a seasoned and experienced professional with proficient job area knowledge and practical knowledge of project management, managing projects and processes under general supervision to achieve operational targets with moderate impact on departmental results.Technical/Functional skills:Proficient knowledge of relevant technologies, software development methodologies, and programming languagesProficient knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of object-oriented design/development in a real-time environmentKnowledge and understanding of regulatory standards impact on software developmentProficient knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of software unit, component, and integration testingProficient knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of source code management and defect trackingUnderstanding and ability to implement Agile and Scrum methodologies, valuing procedures principles.Ability to work in a team environment and highly effective at collaboration.Ability to work in a project collaboration tool, such as Version 1, Jira, or Azure DevOps.Experience with Widows IoT a plusExperience with C++ a plusEducation/Experience:Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and work experienceMinimum of 4 years of progressively advanced real-time object oriented commercial or government software development experienceExperience with C# and Visual Studio requiredExperience with Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) requiredPreferred Skills, Experience and Education:Ability to understand and utilize UML (Unified Modeling Language)
