Job Description: is hiring a Scrum MasterRemote: Any LocationPosition Summary:This position's primary responsibility is to support the effective development and delivery of software systems/products that delight our customers and colleagues and to coach teams to high-performance. Incumbents in this position will partner with product management, DevOps, architecture, and development to ensure product management's vision is translated into iterative value delivery. We are looking for someone who will develop into a thought leader for all things Agile and will grow from a Scrum Master into an Agile Coach. The ideal candidate will lead by example and knows how to bring out the best in people acting as a galvanizing force for Truckstop by sharing agility knowledge across the company. They also have a systems perspective and the ability to create bridges between people in an organization. As a member of the Agile coaching team, there will be opportunities and expectations to develop proficiency and collaborate on providing value based on Agile coaching competencies, which include: 1-Agile, Lean, models, patterns, and practices, 2-Facilitation, 3-Coaching, 4-Mentoring, 5-Technical Mastery, 6-Business Mastery, 7-Transformation, and 8-Training.Essential Job Functions:* Participate in hiring decisions focusing on cultural fit, growth mindsets, and experience working on Agile teams.* Facilitate the creation and updates of team charters and working agreements that include purpose, values, Definition of Ready, Definition of Done, behavioral norms, and team communications.* Facilitate ceremonies within the accepted Agile methodology for the team.* Foster engagement and team dynamics focusing teams on the core Scrum values: Commitment, Focus, Openness, Respect, and Courage.* Build a trusting and safe environment focused on team dynamics and continuous improvement. Work as a member of the Agile coaching team to identify organizational barriers impacting teams.* Encourage mindsets and mental models that ensure high-performing teams by promoting empirical process control and iterative value-driven delivery.* Facilitate priority and estimation at different product hierarchy levels, including feature and story level, working with teams to describe dependencies proactively.* Coach and facilitate the team to identify and track work items and issues, identify bottlenecks, and assess and manage risk utilizing models, patterns, and practices.* Coach teams to use forecasting models to identify what they can deliver for a program increment and a sprint.* As a member of the Agile coaching team, utilize flow mapping, value stream assessments, and other approaches to improve flow efficiency.* Facilitate Agile Maturity assessments at the team level.* Participate in identifying bottlenecks and constraints, creating a roadmap, ensuring transformational features are implemented at the team level and utilize objective metrics to provide feedback to the Agile coaching team.* Guide and coach teams on using Agile patterns, models, practices and values and on self-management to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile frameworks.* Develop, coordinate, own, and facilitate processes and practices to minimize and manage inter-team dependencies; ensure multiple teams can work as a cohesive whole to deliver value to customers.* Participate in Agile "Communities of Practice" to discuss and share leading practices across the organization.* Have a strong coaching stance that fosters collaboration, decision making, conflict resolution, and coach teams from divergent to convergent thinking.* Provide all support to the team using a servant leadership style and lead by example. You strive to work based on the Agile Manifesto and Scrum values.* Partner with teams in their journey to improve test automation and DevOps.* Be willing to be coached in Agile Core Competencies and the servant-leadership role.* As a member of the Agile coaching team, define metrics that lead to quality, predictability, and flow efficiency. Be part of gathering the information and developing information radiators.* Encourage the team to use metrics as part of continuous improvement in retrospectives and ensure that they address flow efficiency.* As a member of the Agile coaching team, collaborate on creating facilitated workshops, back-of-the-room experiential training, team and role assessments to create alignment and support continuous improvement.* Other duties as assigned.Position Requirements:* A minimum of three-year's experience as a Scrum Master on multiple teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc.).* Experience in the Scrum Master role for a minimum of 3 years with software development teams that were diligently applying Scrum principles and practices.* Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or equivalent work experience* Strong knowledge of relevant Agile metrics and charts, ability to interpret them, and provide appropriate coaching to team. Understand the role of organizational culture and context.* Experience applying a wide variety of well documented models, patterns, and practices for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Agile frameworks (e.g. implementing quality, continuous improvement, engaged remote facilitation).* Proficient at coaching teams to high-performance.* Knowledge of ALM tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or Rally.* Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team.* Experience with remote facilitation of distributed teams.* Ability to successfully build relationships across, up, and down the organizational structure.* Track record of continued and recent participation in Agile learning opportunities such as: training, conferences, user groups, self-study, etc.* Relevant Scrum Master Certification (CSM, PSM, ICP-ACC, PMI-ACP) is preferred.* Hands-on experience with enterprise Agile scaling frameworks such as: SAFe, DAD, LeSS, or XSCALE is helpful.* Experience with Lean including value stream assessments, Lean portfolio, or Lean change management is preferred.* Previous experience in Agile team roles other than the scrum master role for at least four years is highly preferred.* Displays initiative in a variety of settings.* Must be able to communicate effectively in all settings.* Excels at managing own time and meeting or exceeding department deliverables.* Ability to motivate and influence team members.Physical Demands:Minimum physical exertion. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, communicate, reach and manipulate objects, tools or controls. The position requires mobility. Duties involve moving materials weighing up to 5 pounds on a regular basis. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 75% of the work period while operating equipment such as computer keyboard and mouse.Work Environment:The working conditions will vary between an office environment and a remote home environment. The ideal protected indoor work environment is a clean, non-hazardous work area.
