Job Description:

The employee benefits coordinator position assists employees with benefits enrollment and questions, verifies all insurance billing, maintains employee database and files, and ensures compliance with required benefit notices. In addition, this position is responsible for determining eligibility for employees, mailing enrollment materials and enrolling eligible employees in the appropriate health and life plans, providing benefit information for employees, answering employee and provider questions regarding benefit issues or problems; working with Third Party Administrators for medical, prescription drug, dental and vision claims resolution; checking the status of unpaid claims; maintaining confidential files; written correspondence; running monthly and weekly reports; entering enrollments and enrollment changes in our HRIS Platform; collecting insurance premiums for employees on leave of absence; entering leave of absence for all management and management support Team Members and maintaining a Short Term Disability Log with the entry of Short Term Disability Payments; assisting in mass enrollments as needed. Duties also include working with our Retiree health plan and performing appropriate data entry into Paylocity.

Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.Conduct benefits orientations and explains the benefits self-enrollment system. Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in the payroll system for payroll deduction.Assist employees with health, dental, life, and other related benefit claims.Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims, and costs. Resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.Administer COBRA.Review and respond to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation. Review monthly unemployment statements.Coordinate workers' compensation claims with a third-party administrator. Follow up on claims.Assist HR manager in obtaining statistics and information in the renewal process of any health, life, and retirement plans that benefit the company.Prepare and set up meetings designed to help employees obtain information and understand company benefits and other related incentive programs. Ensure distribution of required employee notices. --Plans, conducts and reports results of audits to ensure all enrollments are accurate and that dependent information is correct for each employee and works closely with accounting for quarterly and year end audits (payroll, Workers Comp, 401k, etc.). Prepare and maintain biweekly employee reports, new-hire and absentee reports. Maintain and update company organizational charts, phone directory, and other requested reports as needed.Assist Director of Human Resources in completing benefits reporting requirements.Other duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct supervisory responsibilities are required. Required Skills/Abilities: -- Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws. -- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. -- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.-- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.-- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.-- Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.-- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.-- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems. Education and Experience:-- High school diploma/GED required.-- Degree in business administration, finance, or accounting preferred.-- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll software programs.-- Strong attention to detail.-- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.-- Good time management and organizational skills.-- Working knowledge of relevant legal regulations.-- Able to prioritize and multitask effectively.Physical Requirements: -- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.-- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
