Job Description:
The Bartender is responsible for crafting and serving beverages
to our guests, providing exceptional customer service, and
maintaining a clean and organized bar area. The ideal candidate
will have a passion for mixology, a strong understanding of drink
recipes, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions: Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic
beverages according to standard recipes and guest preferences. Take
and accurately process guest orders, utilizing the POS system
efficiently. Maintain a thorough knowledge of our menu, including
drink specials, wine lists, and beer selections, and be able to
make recommendations. Provide exceptional guest service, ensuring a
positive and welcoming experience for all patrons. Check
identification to ensure guests meet the legal drinking age.
Monitor guest alcohol consumption and intervene responsibly when
necessary. Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including
stocking liquor, beer, wine, glassware, and bar supplies. Prepare
garnishes, mixes, and other necessary ingredients for beverage
service. Operate and maintain bar equipment, such as blenders,
shakers, and point-of-sale systems. Handle cash and credit card
transactions accurately and efficiently. Adhere to all company
policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Collaborate
effectively with other team members, including servers and kitchen
staff, to ensure smooth and efficient service. Handle guest
complaints and resolve issues professionally and efficiently.
Perform opening and closing duties as assigned, including setting
up and breaking down the bar. Other Tasks: Assist with inventory
management and ordering of bar supplies as needed. Participate in
staff meetings and training sessions. Contribute to creating new
and innovative drink recipes. Assist with cleaning and maintaining
the overall appearance of the establishment. Perform other duties
as assigned by the Bar Manager or Assistant Manager. Core
Competencies: Mixology Skills: Demonstrated ability to prepare a
wide range of classic and contemporary cocktails accurately and
efficiently. Knowledge of different spirits, wines, beers, and
non-alcoholic beverages. Customer Service: Excellent interpersonal
and communication skills with a genuine desire to provide
outstanding service. Ability to build rapport with guests and
create a positive atmosphere. Communication: Clear and concise
verbal communication skills to interact effectively with guests and
team members. Active listening skills to understand guest requests.
Attention to Detail: Ability to follow recipes precisely, pay
attention to presentation, and ensure accuracy in order taking and
payment processing. Time Management & Organization: Ability to
manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively in a
fast-paced environment, and maintain a clean and organized
workspace. Problem Solving: Ability to identify and resolve guest
issues and operational challenges in a calm and professional
manner. Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
to achieve common goals and contribute to a positive team
environment. Responsibility & Integrity: Demonstrates responsible
alcohol service practices and handles cash and sensitive
information with honesty and integrity. Adaptability: Ability to
adjust to changing circumstances and handle unexpected situations
with composure. Product Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of
the bar menu, ingredients, and preparation methods. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Minimum one year of experience as
a bartender, barback, or similar, or formal bartender training.
TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol, or other approved certification Must be
of legal age to serve alcohol according to state and local
regulations. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to lift and carry trays, glassware, and bottles (up to 25
lbs). Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends,
