    Job SummaryThe Housekeeping Technician / Floor Technician is responsible for floor care duties in the adult hospital. The candidate must have one year of previous experience operating floor care machines. This is a full-time position (40 hours/week).Position ShiftPositions on the following shifts:1st shift - hours 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m.2nd shift - hours 3:00 p.m.-11:30 p.m.You are required to work every other weekend in this position and rotating holidays.$2,000 sign on bonus will be available to those who have not worked fulltime at VUMC for the past 1 year.

      Qualifications1 year of experience operating floor care machines is a requirement for this role and great customer service skills.Preferred Qualifications:Customer Service or previous housekeeping or janitorialKey Responsibilities:
      • Cleaning and Maintenance
      • Floor care - stripping and waxing floors (detailed)
      • Cleans assigned area according to established procedures
      • Uses chemicals and supplies appropriately and correctly
      • Reports light outages and other maintenance needs to supervisor
      • Equipment Operation
      • Uses buffers, extractors, side-by-side, and vacuums safely and correctly
      • Uses buckets, wringers, and other non-electrical equipment correctly
      • Cleans and maintains equipment daily to ensure correct and proper operation
      • Customer Service
      • Collects soiled linen and pillows in public waiting areas
      • Greets visitors cheerfully and offers assistance as needed
