Job Description:

We are immediately hiring for a seasonal Day Baker position.

Hours: Three 10-12 hour shifts/week. Sunday, Monday, and either Thursday/Friday. Starting pay is $10/hour during training and top range is $12/hour. Seasonal- position will be through the end of September.

The Day Baker is responsible for providing high quality, scratch-made baked products for our customers. Our bakers are self-directed workers who have a passion for detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a talent for creating delicious baked goods. Responsibilities of the Day Baker include:

Measure and mix ingredients to produce bakery products including bread, pastries etc. using precise bakery standards.

Ensure correct quantities of baked goods are being produced daily and works with the management teams to plan production schedules.

Bake the majority of the bakery's fresh bread and pastries each day.

Manage the baking environment by maintaining quality presentation, monitor oven temperature and baking times, and evaluate product against standards.

Keep work area clean, organized and stocked, responsible for proper sanitation of the work environment.

Demonstrate hospitality, respect and a friendly attitude toward customers and fellow team members.

Resolve any problem and keep management informed about issues and problems as they arise.

Provide on-the-job training for new bakers (as needed).

Primarily work alone with minimal supervision.

Perform other activities as needed such as stocking, prep and sanitation.

Occasionally making glazes, butter creams, etc.

Able to carry out clear and detailed recipes/instructions.

Using commercial equipment to prepare/proof/bake products.

Minimum age 18 years
The ideal candidate will have knowledge and previous experience with sourdough products.
Previous commercial baking experience required.
Basic knowledge of and adherence to health code practices.
Comfortable with physically strenuous and repetitive tasks.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Experience working in a fast paced environment.
Self-starter, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Possess strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
Enthusiasm, energy and positive attitude with a desire to learn and develop.
Possess a desire for continuous learning.
Ability to continuously stand or walk.
Ability to bend, squat, use a ladder and lift frequently.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Hourly pay rate based on experience.
