Job Title: RN CVICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: CVICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening/Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current RN License Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification - National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Must-Have: - Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test Description: We are looking for highly motivated critical care nurses who thrive in a very fast-paced, high-acuity critical care department. This position involves providing care to some of the most critically ill patients with a variety of diagnoses. The primary service lines include cardiothoracic surgery and neuro/neurosurgery. Nurses in this unit may also provide ICU-level care for patients suffering from severe respiratory infections and may utilize advanced therapies such as extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). The unit operates with a capacity of 15 beds. Patient diagnoses include cardiac surgery, cardiac transplant, myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, cardiogenic shock, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias, and post-cardiopulmonary arrest care. Ages of patients served range from adolescent through late adult (14-60). The typical nurse to patient ratio is 1:2.
