Registered Nurse (RN) | Labor & Delivery Location: Smyrna, TN Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,752 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Smyrna, Tennessee, 37167! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring Must-Have: Drive to provide the highest quality of care to laboring patients. Ability to support patient choice and promote vaginal birth opportunities specific to patient preference. Advanced skills in spinning babies and STABLE are helpful. Description: The unit has 9 Labor and Delivery beds, 3 swing rooms, and 2 operating rooms. There are 3 beds in the obstetric emergency department. Patient ratios are 1:2. Unit staffing includes a unit secretary, scrub tech, dedicated CRNA, and midwife in-house 24/7. An obstetrician is available on-call. The documentation system used is CPN and Meditech. Scheduling requires 4 weekend shifts per month. Floating policy allows for floating to maternity/baby or outside the department for tasks. Patient experience ratings should remain above 75%. Required certifications include RN, ACLS, BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring. Dress code is hot pink and black. Unit guidelines and policies are available for review. The unit received recognition as a Unit of Distinction in 2021. It was also a pilot hospital for quality initiatives. The unit utilizes a laborist team model with 24/7 midwives, dedicated CRNA, and obstetrician on call. Personalized birth experiences are emphasized to meet patients' desires and needs. Couplet care is practiced in the postpartum unit, allowing the newborn to remain at the bedside. Breastfeeding is encouraged, with donor milk availability when needed. There is an 8-bed Level 2 NICU with a NNP committed to the unit 24/7.
