Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Hermitage, TN Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,843 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: Critical thinking skills EKG rhythm interpretation Experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred Peripheral IV skills Experience with bipaps, high flow oxygen, and multiple oxygen delivery systems Experience with stroke and post-cardiac cath care Experience with tube feedings and NG/dobhoff tubes Description: The unit has a total of 59 beds, with 34 beds in one area and 25 in another. Patient ratios on day shifts range from 1:4 to 1:5, while night shifts range from 1:5 to 1:6. The unit is staffed with 3 techs when full in one area and 2 techs when full in another. Common types of equipment include bipaps, high flow oxygen, vapotherm, Alaris pumps, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, and peritoneal dialysis machines. The documentation system used is Meditech. Contractors are required to work every other weekend and are expected to complete 3 shifts per week. Floating may be required between PCU units or to medical-surgical floors. Patient experience is prioritized, with hourly rounding on day shifts and every two-hour rounding on night shifts. Teams utilize AIDET for communication and maintain communication boards. Certifications required upon hire include BLS and ACLS. Dress code requires black scrubs. The unit follows specific guidelines and policies. Self-scheduling is available with schedules created every four weeks. Travelers often choose to extend assignments after their initial period on the unit. The environment is supportive, prioritizing teamwork and a culture of care akin to family.
