Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Nashville, TN Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,832 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS certification Must-Have: Med/Surg Experience, ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IVs, basic wound care, maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes. Description: This position is for a registered nurse in a progressive care unit. The unit has 20 beds with a patient ratio of 6:1. Tech support is available on both day and night shifts. An unit secretary is present from 7 AM to 7 PM. Equipment utilized on the unit includes IV pumps, telemetry systems, SCDs, continuous pulse oximeters, feeding pumps, PCAs, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and iMobile communication technology. Documentation is completed using the Meditech system. The schedule requires three 12-hour shifts per week, including two weekends within a four-week period. Contract labor is the first to float, and staff will float by rotation if multiple contract labor staff are scheduled. Nurses are expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members. Bedside shift reporting is encouraged to foster personal connections with patients. Family members should be included in the patient’s plan of care. The unit holds a comprehensive stroke certification, is an ACS verified Level II trauma center, and is a certified chest pain center. Advanced skills are not needed for this role, and there are no specific procedures performed on the unit that require additional certifications. The required dress code consists of navy scrubs, both tops and bottoms. Unit-specific policies and guidelines will be provided to the selected candidate.
