Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Nashville, TN Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,843 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS certification Must-Have: Med/Surg experience, ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IVs, basic wound care, maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes. Description: The unit has a total of 20 beds. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 6:1. Tech support is available on both day and night shifts. An unit secretary works from 7 AM to 7 PM. Types of equipment used include IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse oximetry machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, and bladder scanners. iMobile communication technology is utilized. The documentation system is Meditech. Scheduling requires three 12-hour shifts per week, including two weekends per four-week schedule. Contract labor is the first to float, and floating is done by rotation when multiple contract staff are scheduled. Staff are expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members. Bedside shift report is expected, along with the ability to make personal connections with patients and involve them and their family members in the care plan. The unit is certified for Comprehensive Stroke, is an ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, and is a Certified Chest Pain Center. Advanced skills are not required for this position. Navy scrubs, both tops and bottoms, are the required uniform. Please include any unit-specific policies and guidelines as necessary.
