Job Summary and Qualifications The Medical Imaging/Nuclear Medicine Registered Nurse will: Provide high quality nursing care to the patients within Medical Imaging. Skills used in their job performance include patient assessment, communication, teaching & quality improvement. The Medical Imaging/Nuclear Medicine RN will also; identify the patients’ needs, plan, implement appropriate interventions, document and evaluate patients’ outcomes; provide care in collaboration with other healthcare team members; be knowledgeable of normal lab values, to include: CBC, Hemoglobin, Hematocrit, PT, PTT and platelets; report abnormal lab values; administer medications via Intradermal, intramuscular, Intravenous, sublingual, subcutaneous or central venous catheter mode; manage care of the patient during invasive procedures; maintain a safe patient environment; assess vital signs; recognize blood pressure outside a normal range; assist physician with arterial/venous access; and be knowledgeable of work flow and responsibilities within all sections of Medical Imaging. The Medical Imaging/Nuclear Medicine Registered Nurse must: Demonstrate an understanding and working knowledge of normal & abnormal anatomy and physiology, radiation safety and equipment operation; procure all equipment needed for any given procedure; maintain a high degree of accuracy and an awareness of all radiation and patient safety issues involved with any procedure; anticipate patient needs and concerns and perform follow-up monitoring until patient leaves area. The Medical Imaging/Nuclear Medicine Registered Nurse must remain sensitive to the physical/emotional needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring, and patient care skills. They maintain confidentiality of all pertinent patient care information to assure that patient’s rights are protected. Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships both inter- and intra-departmentally; to foster good customer relations and to observe the Skyline Medical Center mission statement. Ability to be knowledgeable and compliant with the Policies, Procedures, and Regulations relating to the Departments of Medical Imaging. Ability to use professional and ethical judgment and critical thinking when performing duties. Quality improvement, performance improvement and customer service allow the Medical Imaging/Nuclear Medicine Registered Nurse to be a responsible member of the health care team by continually assessing professional performance. The Medical Imaging/Nuclear Medicine Registered Nurse will participate in continuing education for optimal patient care, public education and enhanced knowledge and technical competence. This nurse is responsible for stress testing, CT Biopsies, MRI Pacemaker observation, and port accesses etc. Hours are 8-4:30pm. during the week. No Call. No Weekends. What qualifications you will need: - Advanced Cardiac Life Support - Basic Cardiac Life Support - (RN) Registered Nurse - Associate Degree - Minimum of 2 years of RN experience TriStar Skyline Medical Center is a 250 bed facility.
