The goal of the Wound/Ostomy Nurse is prevent hospital acquired wounds and facilitate healing for present on admission wounds. - General Essential Functions: 1. Develops, revises and implements ostomy and wound policies and procedures (evidence based practice) 2. Develops, revises and implements ostomy and wound order sets (evidence based practice) 3. Consults and develops plans of care (per nursing process and scope) for patients with ostomies and wounds (evidence based practice) 4. Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served 5. Demonstrates ability to perform technical skills and procedures 6. Documents all required components of patient care 7. Facilitates and supports ongoing ostomy and wound care education for staff members 8. Collects, analyzes and reports essential information related to wound prevalence, wound incidence and departmental operations to appropriate bodies 9. Leads and/or participates on performance improvement teams 10. Acts as liaison between Centennial Medical Center and internal/external customers 11. Supports the facility's Standards of Performance and ICARE valuesQualificationsA.Graduate of a professional school of nursing; BSN preferredB.Current licensure by Tennessee board of nursing or other compact board of nursingC.Demonstrated experience with each of the required areas of expertise in section IIID.Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skillsE.Current BLS provider certificationF.Current CWON or CWOCN certification(s) within 18 months of hire.TriStar Centennial Medical Center is a 740+ bed comprehensive facility.
