Job Summary: Under the direction of the Vanderbilt HealthIT Pharmacy Portfolio and in collaboration with the leadership & staff of Vanderbilt Pharmaceutical Services, the residency is designed to equip the resident with the necessary tools and experiences to achieve a position in pharmacy informatics upon completion of the program. The resident will have a variety of project opportunities, so the program may be tailored to the resident's interests and current needs of Vanderbilt HealthIT and Vanderbilt Pharmaceutical Services. The resident will also have responsibilities which are consistent with guidelines from ASHP. Other related activities may include but not limited to case presentations, teaching certificate, research project, conferences, and a pharmacy staffing component. Goals of Residency: * Understand the role of informatics programs in improving patient safety * Evaluate technology integration in clinical practice * Assess the impact of informatics systems on clinician workflow * Communicate effectively and professionally * Participate in project design and implementation * Obtain Epic Proficient status for Willow Inpatient * Develop leadership in the development and maintenance of informatics systems. * Understand the relationship between local users and vendor software products and customizations _______________________________________ Job Information: Exempt Salaried
