At Project Play Therapy (PPT), our job is to help others see and celebrate each child's unique gifts. We open doors by fostering opportunities for growth and independence through play. We specialize in speech, occupational, physical, and ABA therapy in both school and clinic settings. In addition, we provide school psychological services, counseling, and teletherapy. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION:The Lead SLP (Schools) position is a hybrid direct service/ management position at Project Play Therapy whose focus is to facilitate quality service delivery in our school settings. This position will focus primarily on the leadership and management of our school-based SLPs, but will also include direct service to school clients. The Lead SLP is expected to use innovation, leadership, and problem solving to engage administration, staff, and other stakeholders in order to provide quality services. The candidate must be motivated to grow with a young, vibrant company, and be energized by ongoing collaboration and the endless pursuit of excellent service. In direct service provision as a Speech-Language Pathologist, the Lead SLP is responsible for assisting in developing speech and language skills to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students. In order to respond to the individual needs and abilities of patients and families, the Speech-Language Pathologist must work closely with the staff and administration across PPT clinics. This position reports directly to the Director of School Services.Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Customer Service

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with students, families, and school stakeholders to establish rapport and trust among all stakeholders, and communicate the mission and vision of PPT
  • Oversee SLP Team guidance to establish and maintain cohesive communication and excellent service delivery, including in oversight of screenings, evaluations, and direct therapy
  • Adapt communication style to meet the needs of students, families, PPT employees, school leadership/employees, and other stakeholders
  • Demonstrate best practices, inclusion, problem-solving, and proactive communication
  • Work within a team environment that values communication, accountability and collaboration
  • Foster good-will with current contract customers, in order to ensure client satisfactionOperations
    • Work closely with PPT administration in determining needs at partner schools, assisting with scheduling for entire SLP Team,
    • Design goals and expectations of services in order to effectively execute and meet outcomes, while providing feedback to the leadership team.
    • Lead School Based observations of providers in order to facilitate feedback and ensure quality of services
    • Collaborate with team to collect data and produce reports to show impact of services and achievement of outcomes
    • Oversee quality assurance and compliance within service delivery, including but not limited to guidance on documentation, Fusion (EMR) and EasyIEP assistance/onboarding training, coordination of school based test materials and supplies, ordering in partnership with Clinical Manager - SLP, test kit checkout coordination
    • Oversee school Assistive Technology evaluation process, and serve as organizational point of contact with AAC reps
    • Oversee continuations/growth of school based telehealth services, including ensuring success in meeting Key Performance Indicators and defined quality standards
    • Serve as point of contact for school based providers, providing feedback, mentoring, coaching and training to ensure PPT's mission and core values are represented in school service delivery
    • Supervise Clinical Fellows as needed, providing supervision according to ASHA standards
    • Manage WCS maternity coverage, WCS clinic based services, and other WCS projects, as assigned
    • Provide direction to clinic based providers on adhering to best practices and ethical guidelines, if needed
    • Collaborate with all coworkers to increase shared organizational outcomes and successes
    • Execute the vision and direction as set by the President/CEO, including special projects, as assignedDevelopment
      • Represent PPT school endeavors at community events, to resource organizations, and with the community at large
      • Market to potential contract customers, representing PPT with future stakeholders, increasing the reach of clinic based services
      • Participate in a variety of marketing and revenue-generating activities, as directed, to increase the overall impact of Project Play Therapy in the community at large
      • Assist management team with special projects, as directedFinancials
        • Participate in the active awareness of program expenses and resource management
        • Participate in budget management related to clinic services, as directed
        • Generate ideas and opportunities to increase revenue through successful service implementation and additional collaboration with organizational partnersCandidate Qualifications:
          • Master's Degree in Communication Disorders/Speech-Language Pathology
          • Tennessee State License as an SLP from the Health-Related Board
          • Tennessee Department of Education Professional School Services Provider License
          • Extensive school based experience, including expertise with IEP processes and special education regulatory guidance and standards as defined by TN State Department of Education guidelines
          • Integrity and advocacy skills. Must be comfortable leading meetings and training/professional development with external partners, internal management and/or other stakeholders.
          • Ability to problem solve effectively and expediently to meet and surpass the needs of school partners and PPT Leadership
          • Ability to lead CF candidates in a manner that promotes excellence, efficiency and best practice while also implementing support mechanisms and an overall sense of community
          • Ability to provide service in a way that promotes a culture of community, excellence, and efficiency.
          • 5+ years experience of school based therapy is preferred
          • Must be comfortable working with a wide variety of students and have diverse skill set and broad expertise
          • Evidence of good written and oral language skills and strong organizational skills
          • Able to work both independently and in a team environment
