The Consumer Card Product group manages credit and debit card solutions for the Bank's clients, including Consumer, Private Wealth, Co-Brand, Affinity, Agent Bank, and Institutional lines of business.
As the Card Product Manager, you will be a thought leader around UMB's card strategy and managing the activities of a suite of products offered through various channels (i.e. Agent Bank, Affinity, UMB, Co-Brand, BIN Sponsorship, Commercial). You will lead a multi-functional team of partners for an assigned portfolio of card products in the various channels, including client pitches to new clients/partners, new product development/product enhancements, acquisition and lifecycle management activities, and partner and relationship management. You will be ultimately responsible for growth in card usage, sales volume, and balance growth. This is a subset of the overall responsibilities which involves other multiple initiatives as assigned by Product Development leadership. This role is hybrid (3 days on-site) for candidates in Kansas City area and open to qualified remote candidates outside of Kansas City area.
How you'll spend your time:



  • Analyze and manage the execution of customer lifecycle management strategy which includes retention, spend growth, and re-activation of dormant accounts.


  • Lead work on RFP's and client pitches to new clients/partners in the co-brand, IBIS, and Agent Bank space.


  • Partner with, and leverage and interpret information from the Data Scientist role for use in the development and execution of the strategies and innovation surrounding lifecycles, markets, and payments.


  • Identify and partner with key vendors to develop and expand the go-to market offerings.


  • Partner with internal departments (Compliance and Legal, IT, Underwriting, Fraud, etc) to ensure that all product features and functionality meet market, customer, industry, company, and regulatory needs and standards.

    • You have a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and 5+ years of full lifecycle product development experience OR any combination of education and experience that would provide an equivalent background.


    • You have 2+ years of Card experience.


    • You have an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset. Ultimately, you will be the product owner.


    • You have demonstrated success in managing difficult situations and relationships with clients and vendors.


    • You have the ability to gain influence and cross-functional consensus.


    • You have experience in interpreting market and financial data to align strategies and build innovation around products.


      The pay range for a candidate selected for this position who is based in Colorado is typically $87,570 to $162,540 annually. The selected candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, including but not limited to work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay for the selected candidate may be above or below this range. The successful candidate will also be eligible to participate in one or more incentive plans based on company and individual performance.

      Compensation Range:
      Minimum: $87,570.00 - Mid Point: $125,055.00 - Maximum: $162,540.00
