Remote - Flexible work ArrangementJob Profile Summary:The
primary role of the Director of Revenue Strategy (Portfolio) is to
focus on the profitability of each assigned hotel by developing and
implementing effective revenue management strategies. This position
is responsible for guest room demand planning, forecasting, and
optimizing hotel inventory and guest room rates. The Director of
Revenue Strategy (Portfolio) provides leadership to hotel revenue
teams (consisting of General Managers, Directors of Sales, and
senior corporate leaders). They employ a range of property
management systems (PMS), revenue management systems (RMS), and
business intelligence tools such as Amadeus TravelClick data, Smith
Travel Research, HotStats, and other tools to aid in formulating
and executing optimal pricing and positioning strategies.The
Director of Revenue Strategy (Portfolio) leads and facilitates
weekly revenue calls with property teams, where they recommend
revenue strategies, implement them, and ensure alignment of all
distribution systems with each hotel's overall strategy.
Ultimately, the Director of Revenue Strategy (Portfolio) strives to
maximize top-line revenue for each hotel under their leadership by
expertly balancing the art and science of revenue management,
utilizing best practices and innovative solutions to achieve this
goal.Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Own revenue management processes
across all assigned hotels to ensure compliance with Company and
Brand standards. Offer strategic recommendations while challenging
existing strategies to optimize guest room revenue, recommend
process improvement and demonstrate industry best practices.
Evaluate market demand by utilizing available data including
proprietary and third-party data tools including but not limited to
STR, Amadeus TravelClick, HotStats, and other tools. Develop
positive partnerships with peers and revenue teams to ensure
maximization of overall revenue. Prepare monthly and annual
forecasts for guest room revenue and ensure hotel forecasts reflect
optimal outcomes by leveraging the latest macro and micro trend
data. Provide leadership and mentorship to team members.Lead weekly
revenue calls for each assigned property with an agenda and notes
from each meeting.Direct work and provide leadership for Revenue
AnalystRoutinely audit distribution systemsEnsure room rates are
extended beyond End dates.Act as a liaison between Brand revenue
management teams, OTAs, and other distribution channels. Stay
current on emerging trends and technology as it relates to revenue
maximization for hotels and resorts. Work closely with the sales
team to ensure strategic alignment. Lead Rooms Revenue Budget
process. Participate in monthly property review meetings.Ensure
rates are mapped and tracked in accordance with Company market
segments and definitions.
Attendant regular senior management
meetings and be prepared to discuss issues related to revenue
management and topline performance. Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required in
Business (from an AACSB-accredited institution) or in Economics or
another statistically focused degree.MBA is preferred, from an
AACSB-accredited institution.Active membership in HSMAI with CRME
certification preferred.Minimum of 6 years of experience in Hotel
Revenue Management with multiple property responsibilities. Ability
to work with mathematical concepts.Strong knowledge of Revenue
Management PhilosophyProven experience with hotel PMS systems, RMS
systems, Microsoft Excel, and other Microsoft Office Platforms.
Proven experience in forecasting, pricing, and inventory control.
Deep understanding of travel industry distribution systems.
Experience with at least two or more major hotel brands (including
Hilton, Marriott, IHG, or Hyatt)Solid analytical and critical
thinking skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills,
team-oriented.Strong sense of urgencySelf-motivatedHighly developed
problem-solving and prioritization abilities. Deadline-oriented and
extreme focus on details. Aptitude for performing numerical
analysis of data and formulating conclusions and solutions. Ability
to work flexible hours and extended times as required to meet
deadlines. Travel to assigned hotels at least once or twice a year
(20% of the time)On occasion some nights and weekends may be
