The position will prepare Bi-weekly payroll and maintain attendance and time sheet records for all employees.Primary ResponsibilitiesAdminister all aspects of payroll utilizing the payroll system.Calculate sales commissions and bonuses.Compile time sheets and calculate overtime.Review and distribute W-2 forms.Prepare the payroll summary monthly.Complete correspondences regarding payroll information for unemployment, IRS, Dept. of Labor, etc.Review payroll tax returns and other information both quarterly and annually.Pay all Benefit related bills online. (BCBS, UNUM, VISION, Health Equity)Enter all General Ledger entries into Sage related to PayrollEnter all General Ledger entries into Sage related to benefit billingsAccount reconciliationMaintain Employee FilesSkills/Knowledge/ExperienceStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Pivot Tables, V-Lookup and Sum IfsAbility to keep sensitive information highly confidentialExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong and pleasant telephone and interpersonal skills, and the ability to deal professionally with clients, vendors, and co-workers on the phone and in person.Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to take initiative, use good judgment, demonstrate a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail, and carry multiple projects through to completion.Ability to work independently, prioritize work and ask for further clarification when necessary.Ability to work under pressure with tight time constraints, as well as the ability to deal with frequent interruptions, unresolved situations, frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalentMinimum 4 years of payroll experience; Including utilization of current Payroll Systems.Understanding of payroll process and internal controlsUnderstanding of federal, state and local tax regulationsPreferred QualificationsExperience in construction organizationAssociates degree preferredPaycom Payroll SystemSage 300 CRE ERP platform (formerly Timberline)Company OverviewSouthern Land Company believes that community is the heart of every successful development project.
