Job Description:

Job Duties:* Coordinates with Solutions and Engineering during the modeling process to estimate facility improvement costs required to support potential new accounts* Collaborates with Real Estate to evaluate potential new buildings to determine suitability for us for the specific needs of a potential customer* Assembles cost estimates for required facility improvements for use during the lease negotiation process* Develops a scope of work for any and all facility modifications that have been identified as required to support newly awarded business* Ensures the scope of work is developed within the confines of the approved model budget for the account* Develops any design documentation for the improvements, either internally or by engaging design professionals* Distributes scope of work and design to Geodis, customers, and the landlord for review and approval* Evaluates contractor bids for the improvement work and award contracts* Coordinates with contractors to process the design plans through local codes and Fire Marshal review, so as to obtain any required permits for the work* Manages the project to include updates on scope of work, update on schedule, change orders, and resolving any conflicts with vendors* Collects and catalogs all close out documentation when the improvement work is complete and work has received final approval from local authorities* Provides assistance with maintenance issues, explore cost savings opportunities or answer code compliance questions for issues that may arise due to changes of layout of use of a facility* Other duties as required and assigned Requirements:Education & Experience:* Minimum 2 to 3 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience* Working knowledge of the commercial construction process to include: working with construction contractors and construction contract documentation* Working knowledge of warehouse operations, layouts, systems and material handling equipment* Experience with AutoCAD and architectural / engineering design drawings preferred* PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, One Note, Power Point and ExcelMUST HAVE a few years' experience leading new construction projects for logistics facilities Essential Skills:* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, technical procedures and governmental regulations* Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers and the general public* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and schedules Environment:While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The employee is required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
