    JOB SUMMARY:The Vanderbilt Memory and Alzheimer's Center seeks qualified applicants for a Communications and Social Media Manager. The Manager will plan, develop, and execute communications for the Center, under occasional guidance from the Center Director and program leadership. High-level responsibilities are focused on planning, curating, and publishing social media content and public relations pieces; facilitating digital engagement, including web design; and collaborating with faculty and staff on special projects. Exceptional organizational skills, verbal communication, written communication, and attention to detail are required. Proficiency in Microsoft applications is also required. Proficiency in in graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Illustrator), Drupal, Barista, Emma, health communications, public health, event management, and community relations is preferred.
    DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:The Department of Neurology has doubled in size over the last five years and continues to grow and expand, adding both clinical providers and administrative team members to support this growth.           • Oversees the creation, coordination, and execution of communication pieces, including but not limited to the Center website, social media channels, academic and community events, donor communications, press releases, and talking points.
          • Provides guidance for individuals supporting the program. Delegates tasks as appropriate, reviews work, and follows up to assure successful and timely completion.
          • Promotes growth and expansion of the program by actively seeking stakeholder feedback to improve processes, systems, and outcomes.
          • Grows digital audience to promote study and clinical trial participation and community outreach goals.
          • Develops content for and manages Center newsletters for community and faculty audiences.
          • Manages communication contact lists on behalf of the Center.
          • Develops and maintains print, digital, and infographic materials and assets.
          • Organizes and oversees campus-wide and community events including but not limited to the annual Vanderbilt Alzheimer's Disease Research Day.
          • Manages media requests.
          • Develops PowerPoint presentations for scientific and lay audiences.
          • Develops annual (impact) report on behalf of Center
          • Evaluates program activities and milestones, including providing updates at team meetings with table and figure summaries.
          • Recognizes and takes charge of areas of responsibility. Takes ownership of problems brought to their attention. Analyzes problems and follows through to problem resolution. Takes responsibility for mistakes and quickly learns from them.
