Through our unmatched commitment to patient-centered care, we are a force of health services innovation.-- The Director, Tennessee Network Strategy and Transformation is the local health plan's accountable leader for successful provider network transformation outcomes. This position is responsible for the definition and successful implementation of the Tennessee Community Plan's Value Based strategic and operational initiatives, programs and priorities to enhance clinical quality performance, financial results and customer/stakeholder satisfaction. This role serves as the primary contact to our TennCare customer for transformation thought leadership, as well as execution and ongoing delivery of the State's "Health Care Innovation Initiatives" (Value Based Programs), to include Episodes of Care (EOC), Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH), Tennessee Health Home (THL) and Centers of Excellence. The Director, Tennessee Network Strategy and Transformation role requires working in a highly matrixed environment with a strong bias towards strategic thinking, measurement, action and delivering results.-- If you are within a commutable distance from Nashville, TN, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.-- Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the accountable owner and primary point of contact for TennCare's Value Based Programs, ensuring all State requirements are consistently met across Matrix with quality results, on time and within budget
  • Builds strong collaborative relationships with TennCare leaders, as well as with internal and external stakeholders, to include key providers, to further innovate and enhance existing, or create new, value based programs
  • Serves as a creative thought leader to maximize program value via affordability and quality, for TennCare, UHC and other stakeholders
  • Drives cross-functional, matrixed teams to successful delivery of requirements regardless if new program implementation or the ongoing maintenance of existing programs
  • Ensures ongoing program success by providing leadership across organization and matrix via measurable Dashboards and routine Steering Committees
  • Stays abreast of network, market and industry changes in order to serve as a leading, credible change agent Technical Skill Requirements:
    • Proven knowledge of Value Based network contracting
    • Strong knowledge of network contracting, operations, strategy, structure, compliance and regulations
    • Adaptable, flexible and able to lead and manage the organization through change
    • Goal oriented and personally accountable; resourceful and self-directed
    • Ability to problem solve, identify and remove roadblocks, triage and prioritize issues
    • Displays excellent strategic skills to create excitement around possibilities and create a vision that inspires individuals and the organization to take action
    • Ability to effectively collaborate across the organization with other departments and ability to deploy capabilities to internal and external customers
    • Demonstrated leadership, team or project management, communications (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to identify and analyze industry and market trends

Required Qualifications:
      • 5+ years of strategic and network operations experience in a managed care environment
      • Significant experience in Value Based Contracting with proven clinical outcome improvements and cost savings OR Significant experience setting strategy for Physician Services, Health Services, or designing models for effective improvement of clinical outcomes and cost management
      • Experience in a complex healthcare delivery environment, including risk assessment and quality management
      • Strong analytical background, business oriented, strategic thinking capabilities and attention to detail, while maintaining a "big picture" view
      • Demonstrated ability to think and act strategically from a value perspective and influence key leaders and matrix partners
      • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results with strong sense of urgency
      • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive change in a highly matrixed organization
