Pearce/ Unified is seeking a Critical Power Field Technician (UPS
Field Engineer) for Nashville, TN , and surrounding areas, with a
commitment to excellence and a strong desire to succeed and learn
new skills. As a Critical Power Technician, you will directly
support our customers in the onsite preventive, corrective, and
restorative maintenance of their critical power systems (i.e., UPS,
DC systems, inverters, PDUs, STS, and standalone reserve battery
technologies). As a Senior UPS Field Service Engineer for Unified
Power, you will possess and utilize the 'hit-the-ground-running'
and 'think-outside-the-box' mentalities that drive swift and superb
solutions to address our customers' needs. Core Responsibilities:
Install electrical equipment such as small rack-mounted UPS
equipment, various-sized batteries, and UPS/Battery monitoring
equipment. Maintain Battery Cabinets and racks, Maintenance Bypass,
Battery Monitoring Equipment, DC Systems, and other electrical
equipment. Periodic and lifecycle-driven performance of remedial
services, including failure analysis and troubleshooting, component
replacements and repairs, and battery string replacements and
installations. Customer relationship building – Provide excellent
customer service and upsell products. Field troubleshooting calls
from customers to a satisfactory resolution. Quickly respond to
critical situations. Teach and mentor crew members on proper
techniques for site work, troubleshooting, repair, and analyzing
site data. Isolate basic hardware, software, and interface
malfunctions utilizing various test equipment on multiple products
and technologies. Specific duties may vary or evolve over time
based on business and client needs. Core Experience ATTN: Only
applicants with the following experience will be considered. Please
ensure your resume clearly details your UPS work experience before
applying. Minimum of three (3) years serving in a third-party
critical power field service or technical support role with a
demonstrated progression in technical proficiency and capability
-OR- Minimum of five (5) years serving in an OEM service
environment in the critical power space Prior military training in
electronics or avionics (A School, AIT, etc.) preferred Good
understanding of AC/DC electrical principles. Knowledge of test
equipment operation, such as multi-meters, and battery test
equipment Read and interpret electronics schematics with the
ability to troubleshoot failures/faults to the component level.
Understand and have experience enforcing compliance with
FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations and standards. Outstanding work ethic,
punctuality, trustworthiness, and reliability – you will set the
pace as a senior UPS/ Critical Power Engineer. Good judgment with
the ability to make timely and sound decisions within fast-paced
changing priorities. Physical/Work Environment At Pearce, safety is
our number one concern. Candidates must be able to comply with OSHA
and applicable DOT Standards. Must have a valid driver’s license
with an acceptable driving record (if driving a Company Vehicle)
and pass a pre-employment drug screen. Ability to lift and/or move
up to 100 pounds for short durations. Ability to kneel or crouch
periodically. Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to travel for multiple days with Per Diem as projects
require. Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining
100% safety awareness. Lifting heavy objects and stretching above
