Title: Fire Alarm and Security Engineer
Reports to: Director of Engineering
Type: Salary/Exempt with Full Benefit Package including 401k
Primary Role: Responsible for providing pre and post sales engineering support to Sales and Technical staff on electronic systems (specifically Fire Alarm systems and Security Systems).Assist design team with product application and drawing review. Accountable for being knowledgeable and articulate in the systems offered and supported.
Responsibilities:
1. Work to develop a comprehensive set of system drawings and project documentation for assigned projects
2. Provide Sales and Technical staff with technical support on both a pre and post-sales basis
3. Provide technical support to internal and external customers
4. Supply installation instructions to job file
5. Assist with training internal technical and/or sales staff on new products and/or systems
6. Actively participate in personal and professional development and maintain knowledge of current and new technologies that the company offers
7. Comply with company policies, as well as health and safety issues
8. Promote a team environment
9. Other duties as required or assigned
Accountability: The Engineer will be accountable to the Director of Engineering. Secondary accountability will be to the other management team members, employees and customers of the company.
Qualifications:
1. The Engineer shall possess a two-year degree in Electrical Engineering 2. Technology (EET) or related field experience.
3. Minimum NICET level II Fire Alarm certification.
4. Must possess an understanding of electronic systems, such as fire alarm systems, healthcare communications systems, paging systems, infant protection systems, and security systems.
5. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Must have 2+ years' experience with AutoCAD -.
6. AutoCAD - Revit, AutoLISP programming and Trimble SketchUp a plus Strong project management and organizational skills required.
7. Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust to shifting priorities.
8. Must possess a strong sense of urgency.
9. Preference given to individuals certified in EST, Autocall, Kidde and Simplex.
Travel: Some out of town travel required.

1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
2. Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized.
3. Superior customer service skills to deal with both internal and external customers.
4. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
5. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with diverse groups.
6. Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
7. Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing and implementing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date.
8. Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations.
9. Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation.
10. Valid and current drivers license.
Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements:
1. Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.
2. Some light lifting of objects is required.
3. Reaching, grasping and carrying activities also required.
4. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
5. Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
