Job Description:
You will Develop and write specifications and bid documents for new
powerhouse equipment including installation. Collaborate with other
Corporate and Plant Engineers to ensure projects meet plant
requirements
You will collaborate with Procurement during bid and award phase to
ensure selected contractors can meet project objectives on time, on
budget, and on schedule
You will manage engineering and installation Contractors performing
powerhouse design, installation, and troubleshooting projects. Meet
regularly and review progress. Prepare regular status reports.
Track and control project spending. Manage Change Order process
You will serve as Center of Excellence to plants in all aspects of
Powerhouse engineering. Review and evaluate plant proposals. Assist
in troubleshooting when called upon.
You will actively work to expand companies' knowledge base and
become the corporate subject matter expert. Counsel and mentor
junior engineers to help build powerhouse bench strength
Act and demonstrate ownership for assigned projects. Be a champion
that strives to meet all project KPIs
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or
Controls)
Minimum 8 years of experience with industrial powerhouse systems
including at least 3 of the following systems: energy monitoring,
HVAC systems and industrial ventilation, steam and high-pressure
hot water systems, compressed air generation, cooling and chilled
water systems, fire suppression systems, piping design, vacuum
systems, and hydraulic power systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including MS
project
Experience with CAD applications
Candidates possessing Preferred Qualifications below may be
considered if some of Required Qualifications are not met
12 years experience with industrial powerhouse systems including
each of the following: energy monitoring, HVAC systems and
industrial ventilation, steam and high-pressure hot water systems,
compressed air generation, cooling and chilled water systems, fire
suppression systems, piping design, vacuum systems, and hydraulic
power systems.
Experience with Rockwell based process controls, instrumentation,
VFDs, and SCADA systems.
Experience with operation of Medium and Low Voltage switch gear
We are looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer like you to join our
team! Bridgestone's corporate engineering team, Process System
Development (PSD), is currently seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer
to support powerhouse projects. The ideal candidate will be an
Engineer with expertise in powerhouse systems. This expertise will
be developed through experience working as an Engineer in an
industrial manufacturing environment with systems such as energy
monitoring, compressed air, climate control, boilers, contact
heaters, steam distribution, cooling towers, hydraulic power units,
vacuum, process piping, and water treatment. Experience with tire
manufacturing or rubber processing is preferred but not required.
Candidate to identify with PSD guiding principles; being hard
working, committed to excellence, and continuously expanding and
sharing their knowledge base. Candidate will deliver professional
services to individual plants with positive customer-like
interaction and regular follow-up. Candidate will create and
maintain standards for equipment, processes, safety, and services.
This position requires domestic and international travel nominally
at 50%, with blocks of time at higher and lower percentage.
