Job Purpose The Vice President, Product, Field Support & Investment Marketing Strategy is responsible for all product launches, go-to-market, messaging, positioning, user and market research, and improving our product and investment experience across all channels. They should demonstrate a market-driven approach inspired by a deep understanding of the consumers and coupled with an ability to translate this information into data-driven and compelling product and marketing solutions and proposals. They will also be responsible for understanding and consulting all distribution channels for firm channel specific marketing approaches and opportunities to drive activity, leads, and sales focused on product, field support, and investment strategy. Working across all areas of the enterprise, as well as understanding the current market and partner marketing efforts, will also be imperative to a successful marketing strategy and approach. Understanding the sales environment and aligning as well as looking to advance our marketing efforts for our sales organization will be imperative to Jackson and our salesforce staying relevant and allowing for scale as well as effective point-of-sale interactions. Essential Responsibilities Lead team of product and channel marketers to set strategy, manage teams as well as leading work directly when needed. Plays a mentorship role for junior marketing personnel guiding them in their duties when necessary and ensuring that they are constantly growing professionally in order advance in their current position as well as future opportunities to advance. Works collaboratively with cross-functional product departmental heads, operations and service, sales, as well as external partners for the purpose of developing clear, concise, and effective marketing efforts that will facilitate cooperation between internal functions and drive differentiated product and channel marketing strategies that leverage strong consumer, market and competitive data. Responsible for overseeing creation of market collateral, developing marketing metrics and systematic approaches for obtaining comprehensive consumer, market, and competitive analyses that support strategic organizational decisions and product marketing tactics. Driving the articulation of our investment strategy and message to market along with usage of 3rd party materials. Cultivates, implements, and manages product marketing and sales strategies across multiple distribution channels. Assists in the creation of sales concepts, white papers and sales presentations for multiple audiences including wholesalers, advisors, and clients. Functions as a product brand advocate by being a competitive expert, conduit of information, and source of sales ideas for our wholesalers. Executes a business plan to maximize brand sales through independent, bank, regional broker/dealer and advisory channels. Works closely with the salesforce to develop appropriate business plans and strengthen sales skill sets to maximize territorial sales. Works with Product Management to identify needs in order to create competitive products and oversees a team that executes go to market strategies for the dynamic product agenda across channels Translates the technical aspects of products into easily understood and compelling stories to ensure the message resonates effectively across multiple audiences Leads the team that develops rollout plans for new products, benefit changes, added features and other critical information that are important to wholesalers as well as internal and external customers and coordinates plans across multiple product lines Attends regional/annual wholesaler meetings to provide updates on products, positioning of products and teach product sales techniques. Stewards and provides final review of all product marketing material to include print materials, website, and intranet. Works collaboratively with the other Distribution Marketing leadership team members in developing and executing Marketing strategies. Coordinates with partners across Jackson to prioritize efforts with other key company initiatives Directs staff; responsible for personnel actions including hiring, performance and salary reviews, disciplinary action and firing. Other Duties Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Possesses a strong understanding of wholesaling and the financial sales process. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects. Strong leadership skills with the ability to organize, inspire, and motivate teams. Ability to be a strong individual contributor as well as a member of a collaborative team; fosters cross-functional teaming across the department. Excellent presentation skills. Expert annuity knowledge. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management as well as other departments in a collaborative environment. Must be a well-organized self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Understanding of the regulatory environment as it applies to state verification forms, sales kits, all marketing materials and compliance. Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Qualifications Bachelor's Degree required. 10+ years of financial services or insurance industry experience required. Previous experience working with life insurance, mutual funds, and 401K preferred. Experience initiating and developing training programs preferred. FINRA Series 6 required. Series 7, 63 preferred.
