Who You Are: You are a senior-level, experienced marketing professional with experience in launching product to market and B2B and B2C experience. You can build strong relationships with partners, media, internal teams, and external partners very quickly and are an expert at connecting with people. You can self-manage, work under pressure, are not afraid to role up your sleeves to execute on a plan and you never miss a deadline. -- As a Director at WHILL North America: Reporting to the CEO for WHILL /Scootaround North America the Director of Product Marketing is responsible for working with a team that shapes the vision for the WHILL product in the North America market. The position works at the intersection of product development, sales, and strategic marketing and will ultimately have responsibility for generating the tools needed achieve sales success in the market. You will be part of a team that will be fully engaged with not only strategically marketing and selling existing WHILL product, but also new WHILL products being introduced to North America in 2021.The Director of Product Marketing is responsible for understanding and leveraging the product value propositions and building the marketing tools needed to facilitate a successful launch strategy to support the product sales KPI's in the North America market. Through a deep understanding of the customer and the competitive landscape, The Director of Product Marketing has the responsibility for developing, articulating and executing a strategy to market a portfolio of products that are competitively priced, appropriately featured and aligned with the distribution strategy of the organization. The Director, Product Marketing is responsible for providing planning and oversight in developing strategic marketing initiatives and implementing product-focused marketing campaigns and programs. This role involves a high level of strategic input, proactive ownership, independent drive, team-based collaboration, as well as a proven results-driven approach to successfully promote WHILL products. Also included in this mandate, the Director will develop creative and logical recommendations to business/marketing problems by linking facts and insights from multiple sources (e.g. market research, competitive intelligence, client insights, industry reports, academic literatures and etc). This includes identifying, understanding, and reconciling competitive and industry trends that may impact product sales or market penetration. -- Required Skills: We want a candidate who has experience developing and articulating a product development strategy and launching an innovative luxury product to a specific market segment for a manufacturing company. The ideal candidate can come from a variety of backgrounds and will have: -- A passion for learning how customers procures and use our products Creativity and problem-solving abilities Excellent organization & communication skills - written, verbal, and digital - especially when interpreting and translating technical terminology into valuable insights for the marketing and creative teams. The ability to work with all levels and departments in the organization. An understanding of business and product financial metrics. Maintaining a framework for evaluating our product lines, including market size in units and dollars, market share, revenue, margin and product opportunity. Translate strategic marketing plans into tactical plans inclusive of content, campaigns, editorial, digital and media and the ability to pragmatically execute on these plans. Build and manage close relationships with key business partners, both inside and outside of marketing, to understand and influence their strategies and priorities --Proactive assessment and identification of current and long-term opportunities that position WHILL products within the marketplace. --Rigorously analyze sales trends and client needs to identify short- and long-term opportunities for competitively positioning WHILL's products. Combine sales trend analysis with performance analysis to determine strategic or tactical marketing activity. Maintain a defined suite of support material with the Japanese and North American WHILL teams, ensuring timely updates and a consistent brand format. Manage the product marketing budget. Maintaining a framework for engaging with our customers and dealers to understand their wants, needs, problems, image, understanding, etc. as it relates to our product lines. This will include both ongoing feedback and project specific feedback. Assisting with the pricing and product positioning strategy. Building a process/workflow to translate technical product feature sets effectively and efficiently into simple customer-focused benefits Working closely with the Scootaround internal marketing team in Winnipeg Canada to aid in the creation of compelling marketing material and tools -- -- -- Minimum Requirements: A minimum of 10 years in Marketing, with at least 5 years of Product Marketing experience gained within the product manufacturing industry or comparable product marketing experience in a product development industry. Superior strategic planning and product marketing and communications capabilities required. A track record of results in Product Marketing. Proven success working with sales teams. Strong relationship management and influencing skills at multiple levels. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically PowerPoint and Excel as well as Teams or Video conferencing programs, Proficiency or familiarity to Sales Force, NOP, or Ecommerce programming, Hubspot, Adobe, Google Analytics, Tableau, Data mining all assets to this position. -- Education: A University degree with an emphasis on Marketing, Business Administration or Economics. --- MBA, CFA, CIM an asset.
