The Nashville Airport Marriott, located at 600 Marriott Drive, Nashville, TN, 37214 is currently hiring a General Accountant. Responsibilities include: Pay invoices in a timely manner and check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper GL codes. Maintain invoices in Birch Street for checkbook and statement accuracy. Insure that CAPAX invoices are coded to the correct projects. Organize, secure, and maintain all files, records, contracts, insurance accords and other documents in accordance with policies and procedures as well as maintaining hotel tracking. Complete period-end closing procedures and reports as specified. Audit cashier banks periodically according to SOPs. Participate in internal, external, and regulatory audit processes and ensure compliance with SOPs. Maintain a good relationship with our vendors and Marriott Business Services payables. Set up new vendors according to Marriott SOPs in Peoplesoft and Birch Street and secure vendor information according to SOPs. Run various reports several times a month to insure payments have been processed and research vendor statements to ensure all invoices have been submitted. Audit monthly payable reports for proper taxation and timely payments. Assist the Director of Finance on the preparation and execution of the budgeting process and track annual licenses fees, insurance documentations and expiration dates. Other Comply with accounting principles & audit standards and yearly schedule. Administer and maintain purchasing card holders contracts annually and update as needed and distribute the Bank of America P-card transaction report to card holders monthly. Collect backup for each P-card transaction from card holders on a monthly basis and remit it to Marriott Business Services. Preform other duties as assigned to meet business needs. Prepare State and Local tax computations and record keeping reports. Respond to all calls received on the Guest Inquiry line in a timely manner. Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets; protect the privacy and security of guests and coworkers. Speak with others using clear and professional language; prepare and review written documents accurately and completely; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
