General Summary:
Develop, maintain and improve relations between Dollar General and
its shareholders, the investment community and other members of the
financial community including financial analysts and institutional
investors. To communicate with the investment community within the
guidelines of the Company's Disclosure Policy.
Responsible for ongoing communication with investors and analysts
via presentations, meetings, conferences, other in-person meetings,
and IR portion of company's website
Responsible for drafting and coordinating team review (with VP of
IR) of quarterly earnings press releases, Executive Overview
portion of 10-Q/10-K, and IR updates for Board of Director appendix
materials
Prepare field personnel and partner with IRO in preparing CEO, CFO,
other Executive team members for investor interactions; to include
question and answer preparation, overview of participants,
Regulation FD education, and other appropriate items
Identify, recommend, plan, and partner with IRO to execute investor
and prospective investor outreach activities for CEO, CFO, and IR
team; to include conference calls, analyst conferences,
analyst-hosted non-deal roadshows, investor visits to stores and
headquarters and other events as appropriate
Lead preparation for and execution of Annual Shareholders' Meeting
and annual report, including coordination with all company
participants (CEO, CFO, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, IRO,
Financial Reporting, and third parties)
Responsible for preparation and tracking of IR department annual
budget
Other duties as assigned (including managing 3rd party
relationships such as NYSE, reviewing press releases, etc.)
Demonstrated results-oriented leadership including the ability to
model total development and serve as a steward of Dollar General's
mission & values.
Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication.
Demonstrated knowledge of SEC regulations.
Demonstrated strong ability to work closely and manage
relationships with shareholders, investors and financial
analysts.
Demonstrated ability to apply technical expertise and sound
business judgment in support of operational and strategic
objectives.
A mature sense of self and the ability to manage in a high-growth,
rapidly changing corporate environment.
Demonstrated ability to produce results by leveraging resources,
maintaining tough expense control, and managing key initiatives
effectively.
Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of
staff and management.
Work Experience and/or Education:
At least 8 years of applicable work/leadership experience with 4 or
more years working in an investor relations or related function.
Bachelor's degree in business or accounting/finance required. MBA,
CPA or other advanced degree preferred. Experience in a billion
dollar plus retail growth company a plus.
