Job Description:
Overview: As the Assistant Director of Finance, you will be a
key financial leader in the hotel. You will manage a team
responsible for the timely and accurate execution of various daily,
weekly and monthly responsibilities which, taken together will
ensure the operational objectives of the accounting department are
met. Beyond this you will help guide operators in other departments
and provide leadership and training with respect to various
accounting and operational objectives. Lastly you will be
responsible for ensuring the hotel is consistently following
established controls and prepare for any internal / external
audit.Consistency and confidentiality are both key when it comes to
our finances, so you will need to display an analytical, discrete
approach to problems with high regard for detail and
accuracy.Support Functions:Support the accounting supervisor by
being a subject matter expert and first point of escalation in
support of the following daily responsibilities: Balancing and
posting the income journal daily Reconcile and clear the
procurement card charges Responding to chargebacksSupport the
accounts payable clerk by being a subject matter expert and first
point of escalation in support of the following daily
responsibilities: Posting non-PO invoicesReconcile and transfer
invoices from procurement system to accounting system Facilitate
check runs including printing checks, attaching support and routing
for signature Support the accounts receivable clerk by being a
subject matter expert and first point of escalation in support of
the following daily responsibilities: Preparing group invoices and
ensuring they are delivered within established guidelinesMaintain
deposit schedule and ensure group deposits are received timely
Manage the AR aging and lead credit meetingsSupport the general
cashier by being a subject matter expert and first point of
escalation in support of the following daily responsibilities:
Collecting, verifying, and depositing daily cash dropsFacilitating
routine bank audits Manage the hotel's daily cash over/short and
escalate any violations to the Director of Finance and Human
Resources Director Primary Functions:Ensure the hotel's operators
and other leaders are meeting productivity targets by managing
labor using the hotel's labor management platform and leading
weekly labor meetings Reconcile the hotel's balance sheet each
month and deliver with detailed support to the Director of Finance
for reviewPrepare audit schedules and coordinate with external and
internal auditors in the completion of their field workComplete
monthly tax remittances including sales & use, occupancy and LBD
tax Complete essential month end functions including preparing
journal entries and facilitating the contribution of hourly team
members to close Developmental Functions:Assist Director of Finance
in month end commentary and analysisAssist Director of Finance in
completing the monthly reforecast Assist Director of Finance in
preparations for annual business plan and associated reporting
Develop financial strength by contributing to monthly P&L
meetingsOTHER:Regular attendance in conformance with the standards,
which may be established from time to time, is essential to the
successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular
attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and
including termination of employment.Due to the cyclical nature of
the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying
schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition,
attendance at all scheduled mandatory training sessions and
meetings is required.Upon employment, all employees are required to

and effective operation of the hotel's facilities. Employees who
violate company rules and regulations will be subject to
disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
