Job Description:
Haven Behavioral Healthcare has an opening within our corporate
office for a Financial Services Manager. Haven Behavioral
Healthcare operates seven acute-care psychiatric hospitals and
outpatient clinics across the United States that offer a full
continuum of care for anyone dealing with mental health and
substance abuse issues, from young adults to seniors. Headquartered
in Nashville, Tennessee, Haven treats a complete array of mental
health conditions, including depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD,
personality disorders and many other illnesses. Our addiction
treatment services include alcohol abuse, illicit drug addiction,
and prescription drug use. Each facility is specially designed to
provide a safe, comfortable and nurturing environment to begin the
journey to better mental health. Position Summary: The Financial
Services Manager is responsible for the review and training of
hospital accounting and month-end close processes and procedures;
preparation of monthly financial analysis; and coordination and/or
preparation of accounting, tax, and cost report work papers. This
position is a key member of the corporate leadership team which
serves as financial liaisons to the hospitals. The position
requires extensive interaction with Corporate and Hospital
leadership teams. Details: Five (5) years accounting experience
with an emphasis in healthcare Hospital accounting experience
required; behavioral hospital experience preferred Strong
knowledge/understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
Advanced Excel skills and/or other financial analysis tools
experience required Supervisory experience preferred Medhost,
Prophix, and / or Adaptive Planning software experience a plus
Knowledge of healthcare receivables and allowances required.
Experience with month-end close and variance analysis required.
Assist with hires, trains, supervises, reviews the work of, and
supports Staff and Senior Accountant positions Prepares/maintains
monthly financial statements for Haven programs Perform the monthly
close for hospitals which includes creating and posting all
standard journal entries for expenses items, expense review for
appropriate intercompany coding, creating non-standard entries for
manual accruals as appropriate, evaluating accounts receivable and
calculating contractual needed on accounts receivable as needed
Reviews/prepare Balance Sheet account analysis Performs ad hoc
reporting and analysis as needed Acts a Controller/CFO and
financial liaison to hospital and interacts extensively with
Hospital CEO Assist with directs and oversees interim and year end
audit processes and responds to audit inquiries Assist with directs
and oversees the compilation of cost reporting information for
external vendor and timely submission of cost reports to CMS or
respective state program Ensure property, gross receipts tax,
sale/use tax, and/or other tax filings and check requests are
prepared and filed in accordance with regulatory body---s stated
timelines and requirements Assist with key contributor in the
annual budget process Review bi-weekly payroll to ensure
appropriate application of corporate policies and accurate payment,
also review payroll entries Education/Certification: Bachelor---s
Degree in Accounting preferred, Finance or other Business degrees
considered with requisite experience. CPA or pursuing CPA
